Watery death in escape attempt
A brush with the law led a father and son to flee into a frigid creek Sunday, claiming the life of one and hospitalizing the other. Rescue workers recovered the body of Gary Wayne Brown, 43, of Lacey’s Spring after searching a creek near Madison County’s Ditto Landing for hours Sunday.

Above Ground Pool Vacuum PSI drops from 12 PSI to 3 PSI and isn't picking up anything in pool. Please advise.

I have a 24' round above ground pool.
This is 5th summer.
Pump and filter are new and on 2nd season.
Winterized everything well.
New hoses and secure connections with no leaks.
Took apart and put new sand in filter last summer.
Tried 2 different vacuum hoses - same problem.
Do I need new vacuum head? Any recommendations?
I read a vacuum head with wheels is better than standard one with brushes.
Don't know why I'm losing so much pressure.
Never had this problem before.
No blockages in hoses.
Already backwashed.
Chlorinator is set to FULL.
I primed the pump.
The rubber seal is secure in the lid of pump.
No petcock.
Pressure is good (12 psi) when pump is running normally or in Rinse cycle.
Please help!!!
The vacuum head is a year old with bristles still long and straight.

if its a brush vacuum, maybe suctionn is pulling it down and bristles are worn out, causing it to stick to bottm

Despite the negative connotations associated with rejection, when it comes to the dating game, it is OK to reject someone and equally it is also OK to be rejected by someone. So here's some food for thought...

There are some people who are scared to put themselves out there for the fear of being rejected, perhaps they've had some bad experiences previously. Whilst the past cannot be changed, the future cannot be predicted. Everyone should not be tarnished with the same brush and the only person missing out on a potentially amazing relationship is the one held back by fear. Although it can be a difficult to overcome, taking baby steps by going along to social events is a great start. You're in a safe setting and you do not have to disclose any of your personal contact details until you are ready to do so.

If you're online dating and you show interest in someone's profile and you get rejected by a standard automated message, to your standard automated click of 'I'm interested' it is a fair response. You know exactly where you stand and have lost nothing, other than perhaps a small bit of pride. But had you not tried, you would never have been in a position to potentially gain something. If you take the time to write a personal note (and I don't mean the note that you copy and paste to everyone you contact) then it is common courtesy for the other person to reply, rather than ignore it because they're not interested, although this doesn't always prevail. Regardless, the rejection does not mean that there is something wrong with you, it just means that you were not right for them. Whilst it is tempting to think "well would they feel the same if they had actually taken the time to go on a date with me..." the reality is that this achieves nothing. You just end up winding yourself up about a situation that you cannot control - take it on the chin and move on quickly.

Ignoring phone calls, text messages and emails because you're scared to reject someone is cowardly and disrespectful. Whilst it can be difficult to tell someone that you are not interested in them, put yourself in their shoes. Is this the way you would like someone to behave towards you? By being sensitive towards that person's feelings and explaining clearly why you do not want to date them is a much better approach. You avoid giving this person a complex and perhaps your tactful feedback (yes dating is a learning process) can help them in future dating situations and relationships. And what's more, it makes your life easier - no more unwanted communication!

The longer you are in a relationship, the more difficult rejection can be due to the history shared. Some people even go to the extent of staying in an incompatible relationship to avoid rejection for the fear of being alone. This is an unhealthy approach and by being in the wrong relationship, you're losing the time that you could be in the right relationship.

Whether there is a right, or wrong way to reject someone is open to debate but rejecting someone by email, or text after you have met them face-to-face is impolite. If you have been on a few dates, telling someone that you are not interested over the phone is just about acceptable. But, if you have been dating someone for a while, it is only fair that you do it face-to-face, despite it possibly being an uncomfortable experience. When people are rejected, many need closure and the opportunity to ask questions and understand why the relationship cannot go on. More often than not, being denied this opportunity will hinder them from moving on quickly, whilst they keep pondering on questions in their head, for which they will never know the answers too.

Within the dating game it is OK to reject someone, you free both yourself & the other person so that you can each meet the right person. However, you should aim to treat the person that you are rejecting with sensitivity & tact. When in doubt, try and put yourself in the other person's place and treat them in the way in which you would like to be treated. There will also be times when you are rejected. How you feel about it will depend on the circumstances and also the way in which it is done. But remember, the former you can control but the latter you can't - so if you choose to feel bad about it, then you will feel bad. If you decide to take a positive stance from it - you can move on quickly and start searching for new opportunities.
